Summary
Your heart is racing... you're about to check their phone like you've done before, countless times, having found something every time. And yet, you've stayed, every time. For years. Nearly two decades. Out of loyalty. Out of the morals that were instilled in you by others. Out of face-saving. Out of not wanting to become a statistic. But out of love, too. You love them, deeply, even through the ice-outs, the crash-outs, the deep sadness... there've been good times. You hesitate. Not wanting to feel that familiar hurt again, but already experiencing it. Your stomach hurts. You can hear your heart beat in your ears, it feels like it may burst out of your chest. As your thumb hovers over that app, you hesitate. You're holding their phone, but you realize the only thing you're actually holding is your own fear. (UnBecoming- Part 1: The Phone)
Let's look at Today's Cure. We'll sit with the rest of your story, tomorrow.
