Summary

After the RAIN: Part 1 - The Flowering of Awake Awareness - The blessing of the spiritual path is homecoming to our essential nature—wakeful, loving awareness. These two talks explore the grounds of that awakening, which is a shift of identity from that of a separate self to realizing the formless luminous presence that, like a boundless ocean, includes all the waves or expressions of our being. 0:28.5	When I first started practicing meditation, it was at 1973.
0:35.4	The view from the mainstream world was that meditation was really something very so
0:42.5	taric, mysterious, otherworldly.
0:46.6	Like share a story that was told at the first meditation retreat I attended.
0:52.8	And in the story, a woman in her 50s told her travel agent that she wanted to go to
0:59.8	India and her travel agent was thinking, well, why don't you go to Miami like you normally

1:06.9	But she went ahead and made the reservations.
1:09.9	And the first woman had to take this bus when she flew into India across, you know, probably
1:16.7	about six hours of driving.
1:20.5	And on the bus, she told somebody where she was going and she said, oh, you know, that's
1:25.9	at that place, you know, you can only, she said she was going to go see the guru.
1:30.9	You can only speak three words.
1:33.0	And the woman said, I know, I know.
1:35.0	So then she gets off the bus, takes a long train ride, again, runs into people that knew
1:40.4	this guru and reminded her that you can only speak three words.
1:45.0	Finally, she's, you know, takes the final Jeep ride from the train station over to the
1:51.7	encampment where the guru is with many disciples holding court and gets in the long line to
