Because Donald Trump says the counteroffer by Iran is totally unacceptable.

The Iranians are famously impossible to negotiate with,

no matter how much Trump says the talks are doing well and so forth.

And I mentioned on Friday this really demented post by actor Mark Hamill

I meant to mention that the backlash was so great

that he deleted it

and said, oh, I just wanted to be held accountable.

Story number one is just weird

because the Wall Street Journal reported that the FDA commissioner,

Marty Macquarie, was basically on his way out.

And that report was then confirmed by the Washington Post, by Politico, by NBC News, by CNN, by the New York Times, and others.

So it was pretty clear that people within the White House were putting this out.

And yet, while answering questions just before the weekend,

Trump was asked about this, and he said,

I've been reading about it, but I know nothing about it.
