0:57.0 | And so there's been a lot of questioning about how the media, particularly the White House |

1:16.7 | A few thoughts about that. I think there's a combination of things at play. Number one, I don't think everybody missed it. I think some people knew full well what was happening with |
1:26.4 | President Biden. Even frankly before he was elected the first time there were a lot of |
1:31.5 | issues that were not being fully vetted or explored in the press. |
1:36.0 | They were pretty obvious to people who watched how President Biden then |
1:41.0 | candidate Biden operated and how he was being kept from doing many press |
1:46.6 | events which is really the story of his presidency as well and then I think |
1:51.8 | there were also some who genuinely allowed themselves to be convinced or snookered into thinking there was not an issue because of their own political bias. |
2:02.0 | That's what they hoped to be the case and so they genuinely |
2:04.7 | argued mistakenly that President Biden has never been sharper and that all of these |
2:11.0 | things that were dredged up to criticize his middle capacity were cheap fakes and that sort of thing. |
2:19.0 | But I think a big lesson in all of this has to do with what the news media's role has |
2:25.4 | become. I think there was a time when many of us thought our role in the media |
