Gentlemen, I spent most of this week watching a darkly comic drama unfold on my television in which the incumbent of a US presidential election seemed to be losing.

The prospect of a tie in the electoral college briefly arose. The president's supporters tried to tell election officials to finish counting the votes before embarrassingly reversing course and trying to stop the vote.

And ultimately much the surprise of everyone it ended up hinging on Nevada.

But enough about Veepe seasons four and five gentlemen. Wow.
