ideas of recording podcast live. I have no idea why but now it's actually starting to appear as a very good idea because a week ago my dear friend Simon Salter who is very successfully building a business called

dirty clever play on the brand there you know we were having coffee not dirty and he was having hot chocolate strange for an old man and he

Basically said why don't we have a get together for my community and I said sure and then he said why don't you and my

guest today do it together and so I said yeah I always wanted my guest today to be

a guest on my podcast so let's do a live recording. We're here at the house of

Coco in London who has very generously over four days set us up and we're here to record the conversation with someone I hold very very

dear so my guest today is a gorgeous soul in all honesty someone who I can vouch for as one of the purest most purpose-driven souls on the planet.

My guest is Africa Brook. I met her on a panel in a virtual event and at the end of the panel I reached out and I said I think we really need to get to know each other. A few weeks later I came to London, asked Africa for coffee, and we had endless conversations of depth that is truly worthy of someone who has a soul like Africa. Africa is a writer, she is a

podcaster, her podcast is called Beyond the Self. She has a beautiful story of self-reflection that got her to where she is today,

and she is someone who consults, if you want, to really help people find their way through I think what humans do so frequently

to harm themselves so self-censorship and self-sabbotage. Her next work is about how societies do that in general.

And yeah, I don't know if we're going to talk about any of that at all because me and Africa go all over the place.

So whenever we spoke about anything,

you seem to either have a very heartfelt,

not thought through always, but very heartfelt feeling of what you want what you stand for what you think about the topic and when you didn't you were very open about it. You were like, ah, no idea. Okay? I think that clarity is in my view something that's very, very, very, very rare to find. So I want to start from that clarity and maybe put you on the spot and ask you with that clarity
