Are you afraid to know what's in hot dogs? Are hot dogs safe to eat? Well, in this video, I'm going to share with you the truth about hot dogs.

I'm not going to be talking about the bun or the stuff you might put on a hot dog, just the commercial hot dog itself.

So, what are some hot dog ingredients? First off, they have what's called trimmings.

Pig, chicken, and cow trimmings:

 • Low-grade muscle meat

 • Fat

 • Head meat

 • Feet

 • Skin

 • Blood

 • Liver

 • Edible by-products (brain, intestines, kidneys, mechanically de-boned meat, pig tail, spleen, tongue)

Other hot dog ingredients:

 • Salt (not sea salt)

 • Spices

 • Preservatives

 • Corn syrup

 • Dextrose
