and very good correspondence, Bill Rajo of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy's

Long War Journal and Ambassador Hasena County, former Ambassador from Pakistan to the United States

now at the Hudson Institute to comment on the activity of the

jihadists in and around this region and some success. Bill, a very good evening to you, there is a new report from the United Nations analytical

support and sanctions monitoring team which is a long way of saying they were

looking very closely at Afghanistan. Over the last months we've discussed a previous report in which you identified, I believe, 10 training

facilities by al-Qaeda.

You'll correct me if I get the numbers wrong.

In Afghanistan, there's addition.

So I'm keen on your thinking about these additions, where they are, and what this means about

the Al Qaeda relationship with Taliban.

Yes, the United Nations analytical support and sanctions monitoring team tracks both what's going on in Afghanistan. This is based on the United Nations

Security Council decree and then they in a separate report they take a wider

look at al-Qaeda and the Islamic State worldwide. So this latest report covered

Afghanistan. Yes, and you were correct, John, it was 10 camps as of January of

this year when the last report came out.

camps and 10 provinces, so there can be more training camps.
