Hi, this is against everyone with Connor Habib. Friends, the way the world seems to be coming in

0:08.8

again and again in our lives is like a wave to beat us down. Have you noticed that? I want to talk

0:16.9

about that a little bit before I start this episode with Lisa Romero. For some of us,

0:22.3

that wave has been unbearable. In fact, it has been a killing wave for some people. But for many

0:29.1

of us, most of us, actually, this wave is knocking us about. We see the swells and currents from different vantage points and the tides at different times.

0:43.0

So whether these waves, this water started to come to you back in 2001 with the shattering of a sense of global security,

0:52.2

or maybe you're seeing water in your dreams again and again,

0:56.8

and that's creating a certain kind of mood in your psyche. Or maybe you feel you're drowning in

1:03.6

responsibilities or washed out by the exhaustion of debts. Or maybe, and I think a lot of people feel this, there's a kind of unceasingness

feel that our ability to be, just to be, has been taken from us. It's like we're pulled in our lives

1:42.8

away from who we really are.

1:47.0

Like, you know, when you go to the beach and you walk into the ocean and you're in the water for a while and then you look back and you see you've been carried so far from the spot at which you entered, how did I end up all the way over here? Isn't that

2:01.3

where my home bases? Isn't that where I was sitting or standing? I've definitely been going

2:08.4

through a lot of that for a while now. Of course, there are things in my life that I am happy

2:15.0

about, but so much of who I am is being transformed by

2:18.9

the waters of being, the waters of my life, and the life that we all share. Maybe, and I don't,

2:27.3

in some ways I don't like saying this, but maybe you've sensed this from listening to the show.

2:32.4

My life is undergoing so many changes, and I talk about all of them

2:36.5

with Lisa on this episode. But when I say perhaps you sense them, I should say the episodes so far this

2:45.8

year, it's not that I don't think they offer anything, but I felt so disconnected from who I am and the show in
