And I'm going to do that before we get into this really amazing episode with Caitlin Doty

and Mark O'Connell, which is a live event here in Dublin, that shows you all about why fiction matters.

And it does so very well because this is a podcast with two of my podcast guests.

Caitlin, who's been on many times and Mark, who was on episode 105.

So the tour was huge.

The U.S. book tour for Hawk Mountain and then the subsequent Dublin tour dates for

Hawk Mountain, I mean, almost all the events were completely packed.

And there were three things that bothered me about the tour.

So I guess I'll start with the negative.

One was that I was not able to browse the bookstores that I went into.

Two, because everybody that was working there was like,

we need to get the fuck home after this event is over.

Two was not being able to hang with the people I love.

There were lots of new people, which I love.

There were these big audience filled with, sometimes old friends, people I hadn't seen since like high school era, people who I didn't know, but that drove a few

hours to come see me. And, you know, there were also people who just sort of waltzed on

to the scene because they were looking through the bookstore and just stopped and stayed
