Well, friends, as you may know, I am on book tour for my novel Hawk Mountain. Things have been going amazing. Thank you for everybody who is coming out. And I'm going to just talk about a little bit before I introduce this episode with the Swedish writer, Merritt Coppola.

Yeah, it's been a crazy, you know, journey so far. And one of the events, the one I did with Will Menacher at the Strand in New York

City, which was a packed event, which was amazing for me, will be an episode of the podcast

coming up soon. Maybe there'll be some clips of other ones as well, but that's the only

one I've recorded so far. It's been

really touching to connect with all of you who have come out and have listened to me read and talk

and discuss this book and discuss horror with people like Paul Trembly and with Andrea Lawler and then of course Will.

My friend Caitlin Doty, who has been on the show many times, she told me, you know, because

she has three best-selling books, that the things that hit me would be sort of surprising to me.

So I woke up the day of publication and my boyfriend

was wide-eyed and excited and he was like, hey, the book is out, the book is out. And I couldn't

quite connect to it. But I was in another country because the book comes out in Ireland on the

21st of July.

So when I got here and saw it in a window of Amherst Books, which is a bookstore I worked

at for seven years, it's an amazing bookstore in Western Massachusetts and you should all

go there.

I got a huge education just from working at that store.

And then I got to read at that store with Andrew, which was amazing.

I did connect.

And then, but I found actually one of the most touching things was when I found a video on YouTube, kind of just randomly,

I was searching myself as you do when your book comes out
