Hi, this is Against Everyone with Connor Habib, a weekly podcast featuring my conversations with

countercultural figures and presenting complex, philosophical, spiritual, and political ideas in an

engaging and accessible way. Well, friends, I have been increasingly interested in the role

technology plays in our lives, but also the challenges that it is posing us right now,

and especially as we emerge from this global crisis, into or back into a world that

believes that tech solutions are there for every single problem. And to that end, I've been

doing sort of a short series of episodes on tech.

So the past two episodes, first with Peter Beavergal, and then with Duncan Lorry,

were about the occult possibilities of technology.

But I really wanted to talk with somebody who had been through that tech world and who

had been sort of processed through that

anti-life equation of tech, especially in the Bay Area in the U.S. And there really is no one

better to talk to about this than Wendy Lou. Wendy was a software engineer and a startup founder in the Bay Area and now is the author of the book Abolish Silicon Valley.

You can tell probably by the title of what she thinks of tech and technocracy now.

But, you know, she brings a really great perspective

because she was in it.

not just with the kind of evil version of tech

that we are encountering now,
