So I've been thinking again and again about this quote from Rudolf Steiner, which is machinery is really thought poured into mineral.

But I've been thinking whose thoughts, what thoughts, what minerals, where do they come from,

and what machines arise out of all the variations of all that?

And the reason I've grown increasingly interested and worried and enthusiastic is because of the role tech is now playing in our lives in relation to this global crisis.

And it could be the role that it's going to play in its worst possibility, that surveillance, singularity, hyper-capitalism, or its best, like the artistic and occult

spiritualization of our relationship to machinery. So I have kind of aimed to do a sort of

mini-series of episodes on technology of this podcast. And it started with the previous episode,

with Peter Beavergal about how occult and magic and technology

mix, especially historically and philosophically.

And now we will have an episode with Duncan Laurie.

And this is a discussion I recorded way back in 2011 with him.

Duncan is an amazing artist, sculptor, and a cult tech pioneer.

He's the author of The Profound Book, and seriously, you should all get this book.

It's called The Secret Art, A Brief History of radionic technology for the creative individual. I have links to that in the show notes, so you can go buy

it because it really is awesome. I first heard of Duncan's work with radionics via his segment

on the late great disinformation TV series. And in that clip,

he talks plainly about two strange technologies, which I'd never heard of at the time, and which

really blew my mind. First was radionics, which is what we primarily discuss on the episode.

Second was his biosensor sonic connections to plants and stones. Since we talk primarily about

radionics, let me first describe what that is to you, so you're not just out in the weeds.
