I am Lori Krull, and we are recording today without Kate, but I'm excited to say that we have some special guests.

We will be recording today with Abby Nye and April Soshe, who you've heard us talk about Abby many times.

We met Abby when we went to Albany and had, you know,

this transformative experience of being in the space of advocacy at the lawmaking level and recognizing

I've been in child welfare 35 years and still was blown away. I mean, I've experienced it in terms of like the ground

level of the ways that the system fails to support and provide safe spaces for children

and for even adult survivors, of course, but to kind of, I've not functioned so much at

that high level lawmaking place or even,

you know, administrative, I've been in private practice. So even though I've been in the field for so

very long, I was just blown away to discover the absence and the lack that exists at the

lawmaking level of what should exist for children and the vulnerable.

So very grateful to be able to have this conversation with the two of you who I know have been

from the grassroots level up have been working for, it sounds like quite some time,

to advocate for change.

So if you don't mind, you know, would you introduce yourselves and kind of what your

background is? Thank you, Lori. Well, my name's Abby Nye, and I'm one of the co-founders of

CFC2. And to give your listeners a little context for that, CFC2 is CFC is short for Christian

Fellowship Center. And it's really, it's a

grassroots organization that functions very much in the space of me too. So hence CFC2. So I am a

survivor of abuse. I grew up in Christian Fellowship Center, which is what I would characterize as a Christian cult in upstate New York in the St. Lawrence River Valley.

So basically Canada.
