Yes. Actually, in the background. They start real early now.

Otherwise, you know, it's a tough, it's a tough thing. It's an arms race.

All right. Thank you all for having me.

I'm going to tell you a little bit about what I thought I was supposed to talk about, which is, you know, a little

bit about my background, what we do at UCSF.

I'm a hemank doctor.

I practice at the general and I'll tell you a little bit about the research we do.

All right, so I'm a hemank doc.

I work at UCSF and I practice at San Francisco General Hospital.

You'll find me there most Mondays. And I also attend on service maybe about three, four months a year.

And if anyone's ever interested in coming by and spending some time with us, you're all welcome.

You're welcome to come by sometime in shadow us. And what am I in one line? I'm a hemong doctor who I guess his specialty is critically

evaluating evidence. All right, my journey. I'm from the Midwest. People always say, where you

from? I say outside Chicago, but it's kind of a ways outside. La Port Indiana. There you see it,

right there by Notre Dame. I don't know. Has anyone had the misfortune? I mean fortune of being

out here? No, okay. All right. It's the middle of nowhere.

I knew when I graduated high school, I just wanted to get out of there. So I'm glad to be in San Francisco. I did my college at Michigan State University. My major was philosophy.

I did the pre-med requirements, but actually my interest was philosophy. And this is our commencement
