Hello, we are Jared and Emma Kane.

We serve in Kids Village as student volunteers.

There was a time in my life when I looked for approval and belonging in the wrong places.

My sin had me on a path toward eternal separation from God.

After I became aware of the cost and weight of my sin, I discovered forgiveness and security

in the finished work of Jesus.

Now I can be who God made me to be, an unashamed child of God's tumbling forward.

Today we will be reading from Luke 167 to 69.

Then his father, Zachariah, was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied.

Blessed is the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has visited and provided redemption for his people.

He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the

house of his servant, David. This is the word of the Lord. Thank you. Good morning. Doing all right?

Oh, good. Okay. My name is Mason King, and one of the pastor's elders here, and I get the joy of talking with you today in Advent about the Advent of peace.

Now, the Advent season is one of longing. It's one of desperation. It's one of hope. It's one of looking for the second coming of Christ.

It's the time of the year. It's a focus time of the year where Christians get to focus our attention to reorient ourselves to the true story of the world.

Now, the Western world marks time. It anchors time in bank holidays and prime days.

It anchors time just in holidays and discounts.

But the Christian world anchors time in the life of Jesus.

And so now in Advent through Easter, what we're doing is we're taking this part of the Christian calendar to say,
