You may know my guest, Adrian Grenier, is an actor, certainly from the series Entourage,

which is coming back for another season this summer.

His documentary, which he also made, a shot in the dark, is also on HBO all this month.

Adrian, thanks so much for doing this.

It's an interesting question you start the film with.

What is an ideal father?

Tell us a little bit about what the film's about, first of all.

Well, somewhere around my 23rd birthday,

I started to wonder about my strange father

and wanted to find him,

and I did it with a film, with shot in the dark.

It's interesting because the film is really kind of a mystery, isn't it?

I mean, you're dealing with what your life would have been like,

had you known your father, but also exploring these questions with your mother

about the relationship she had with a man who is your father.

Yeah.

Well, the way I wanted to structure the documentary initially was kind of the way scientists
