Here's some alarming news.

In the wake of whatever that was that happened last night, you know, Donald's remarks

in front of a joint session of Congress, a Teagan Goddard's political wire reports that,

quote, according to the polity project, an organization that ranks and categorizes governments

worldwide, the United States government is classified as a,

quote, non-democracy, unquote, as of February 2025, a downgrade from its previous status as a

democracy, unquote. Well, I can't say I'm surprised, and I think that's completely justified.

And I think, I think it's arguable that we have been a democracy on the wane for some time now.

But now it's official, according to a reasonably good organization, who knows what they're talking about.

Not a democracy anymore.

Who could have seen that coming?

Anyway, while this is not at all an easy pill to swallow, I think last night actually did give us

some context that will help us shape how we think it act going forward.

Donald is clearly not only destroying our democracy,

he's doing it in a way that he thinks at least can convince the world and at least his base

that he's doing otherwise.

So in that joint address last night,

he said something,

at least he started with a moment of levity,

not that it was intentional.

So yeah,
