and tender. Have you ever met someone who's all tough but not at all tender? You know,

they're rough around the edges. Maybe they mismanage relationships and misread situations constantly.

Or maybe you've met someone who's all tender but has no toughness.

They're sweet as the days long, but maybe too fragile too. And they're not someone who stands in the

gap or speaks up or steps out. But they're definitely someone you want to talk with if you're

having a bad day. Well, as Christians, you know what? We're called to be both tough and tender.

Tough against the lies of the enemy, while remaining tender before the

Lord and his dealings with us. Tough when it comes to persevering through the storm and tender when

it comes to the weaknesses and feelings of others. We tend to cower when the enemy harasses us,

and we tend to go rigid when God confronts us. We're sometimes too easy on ourselves and too

hard on others. Jesus was the perfect model for us.
