It is Kevin from Epic Gardening and today we are going to talk about something pretty interesting.

It is how to add mycelium to your soil.

And so the reason why I'm talking about this is because recently

I grew blue oyster mushrooms and oky-taki mushrooms and lion's main mushrooms using kits

that I got from a site called fungi perfecti.

And they were wonderful, they were delicious,

but what I was left with was a bag full of substrate

and my selenium that was depleted. So the substrate had been used to produce the

mushrooms, but the mycelium was still weaved throughout that substrate and it was still

there.

And so then I said, well, I don't just want to throw this in the trash,

so what can I do with it?

And I read that you can add it to your soil.

Now, I'm not an expert on fungi or mycorrhizo or mycelium or anything like that,

but I am super interested in it and I would encourage you if you are interested in going to a deeper dive,

I would look up this guy called Paul Stamets. He is probably one of the

he probably is the best mycologist in the world and the most knowledgeable mycologist in the world

and so he has a lot to say on this topic but when it comes to knowledgeable my

college just in the world and so he has a lot to say on this topic, but when it comes to gardening, I just wanted to know what should I do with those bags?

How can I add this mycelain to my soil and what would be the benefits of that?
