Okay, so welcome to the Behind the Host podcast on the Boosley podcast. I'm Liam Carolyn and today

0:07.4

we are joined by a host. He's based up in Glen Falls. His name is Joshua Kipless and today we are

0:13.6

interviewing him about his short-term rental and how he got started in short-term rentals and the

0:19.5

lessons he's learned across the way. So today, listen in for the next 20 or 30 minutes where you can

0:23.9

pick up tips from other hosts, things that you can implement in your business to help you. So

0:28.5

welcome along Joshua and thank you for joining me. Well thanks, I'm really happy to be here in one

0:33.5

small clarification. I'm actually in Brooklyn, New York. My property is up in Glen Falls,

0:38.8

so it's super pretty close, but I just wanted to get done in the way. So I am doing this

0:42.8

1:02.8

sort of a little bit more about your property. Yeah, sure. So my name's Josh Kipless, as we said,

1:09.4

and I got into short-term rentals. I guess if you were going to go way back, you know, as a kid,

1:16.8

my parents would be going on holidays, you know, we would stay in short-term rentals or

1:22.0

short-term rents. And we did that directly in the Northeast, the US. So we raised basically

1:28.3

into me as a very, then I'm living now. Yeah. Yeah, it was just a cool way to just spend the holiday,

1:36.1

really. And you know, you have access to all these different kinds of properties. And it's a

1:42.3

really unique experience, really, you're staying with somebody's traveling on the lake or, you know,

1:47.3

some houses and the mountains. It's really cool. So that always stuck with me. And then,

1:53.5

you know, over time, you know, of course, Airbnb came up and it just continued to be something

1:58.8

of interest, but then from trying to transition it to the business aspect, you know, I've been doing

2:04.9

commercial real estate investing. And I'm just looking for something else and you know,
