| 0:21.7 | Subscribe, like this video and ring the bell till it goes ding, so you never miss videos like this one. And today we're talking about WaverWire, this time the pitchers. So if you miss the hitters, go back and watch on demand. If you miss the pitchers, well, then I don't know how you could have because we're doing it right now. So unless you broke some sort of weird time space continuum thing, just sit tight and watch this video. So we're going to talk about some pictures here that you might want to add. Again, it's a wacky time of year. So I'm going to give you somebody who is probably owned in some of the deeper leagues, just as a caveat. But in some of the more shallow leagues, I think he's worth a look. I want to start with Christian Scott of the New York Mets. He is 37% roster on CBS, which is higher than he is. I don't know if you could check the consensus over on the other ones on Christian Scott for me. But with Scott so far this year, over seven starts, he's performed pretty well. He's got a sub three ERA, a point, excuse me, 297. The whip is at 138, but the strikeout total has been very strong here. He's got 38 strikeouts so far this year in just the 30 innings pitched. And I think what you're seeing is every time he takes the mound, it's a little bit more confidence, confidence, confidence. And I like that. |
| 1:27.8 | I like that slow build of a pitcher where it's not like the first time he's pitching the major |
| 1:32.3 | leagues. He had the Tommy John surgery. He's come back from it. And I think what's encouraging is that |
| 1:37.5 | every time he takes the mound, he just seems to be a little bit more in control of his stuff, |
| 1:42.6 | in control of his fastball. And although he's probably just a five-ending pitcher right now, he's still going to be, you know, limited to a certain degree, you're seeing him pop off some strikeout performance as six strikeouts in five innings. Just this past week, eight strikeouts in a five-inning start. So I think that's really intriguing. So if you're looking for some strikeouts, Christian Scott is a guy for you. Again, some of the peripherals might get hurt a little bit because of the inefficiency of the innings, right? He's only going to be a five-inning pitchers. If he goes six, dance a jig, I don't think it's going to happen very often. But on a curiosity, Wolf, what was that number where he was everywhere else in the consensus? 12%. That's between being ESPN and Yahoo. That's pretty available right now. So Christian Scott's a guy that I would pick up, regardless of the fact Kodi-Seng is working his way back. They've still got holes in that rotation anyway. So I don't think Christian Scott is going anywhere anytime soon. Well, let's talk about a guy that you want to discuss, too. This is a guy that I |
| 2:34.9 | picked up last week from another conversation we had on the show. Yeah, and this is, both of my guys |
| 2:39.8 | today are under 10% owned between Yahoo and ESPN. So I can't control if they're available in |
| 2:44.0 | your leagues or not. This guy probably has the least opportunity to be because he is coming |
| 2:49.3 | off of a really solid start. It's gauge jump with the A's. |
| 2:52.5 | So his first start, five innings, four earned runs against the Seattle Mariners, five strikeouts. |
| 2:57.9 | I don't think it did like a ton for everybody. It's really just been a question like, |
| 3:01.4 | was he going to stay in the rotation? Well, it goes out against the Cubs, go seven innings. |
| 3:05.8 | One earned run, another one walk outing, five strikeouts. |
| 3:10.1 | And even after the start was kind of beating himself up a little bit for like the way his approach and not wanting guys to be able to make contact. |
