Hey everybody. Welcome back. Welcome to the free trail podcast. Of course, I am your host, Dylan Bowman, and I'm always very

happy to have you here, especially today for another very fun episode with an absolute stud of an

athlete, another rising star with ridiculous talent who, at only 26 years years old has already amassed an amazing resume

of achievements in the sport today we are talking to adam peterman from missoula montana and if you

don't know who adam is if you've never heard his name before i do not not blame you. He has only a small social media

footprint as of now. He is new to the sport, but this kid could very well be the next great

American ultra star. He came into my awareness just this past July when he won the Speedgoat 50K and in the process broke the

existing already insanely fast course records set by the great Jim Walmsley back in 2017.

And by doing so, he joined Hayden Hawks as the only athletes ever to take down a Jim Walmsley held record. This kid has

real talent. And he is only 26 years old, already putting up times commensurate with some of

the best athletes our sport has ever seen. And as you'll hear in our conversation, he's totally just a sweet,

humble and gracious kid who genuinely loves the game, which makes me very happy and optimistic

about the future of our great sport. This was Adam's first podcast ever. What an honor.

So we did a deep dive on his background growing up in

Montana, his special relationship with ultra legend Mike Foote, also a Montana. We talked about

his time at the University of Colorado before we transition to talking about this season,

which has been absolutely amazing for him.

In addition to his win at Speedgoat, Adam also finished second at the Pike's Peak Marathon.

He won the USATF Trail Marathon Championships in Moab in November, and then went on to win the JFK 50 a few weeks ago in the second fastest time ever.

And so, you know, he's had an insane season.

And he's only just getting started.
