I think that Trump has served as a great president.

One slight criticism I have is that he didn't protect his people enough.

He didn't protect Mike Flynn enough and others who went to work for him and believed in his agenda.

They did not get the protection they need.

I hope, I believe that that lesson's been learned.

Real pleasure. Also, former senior director for strategic assessments with the U.S. National

Security Council. So there are insider thoughts from a guy who did serve on the inside. The deep states

right there in the sub-title of the book, Adam, and this is a conversation about the administrative

state, the deep state that stretches back, I suppose, nearly a decade in public discourse at this

point, but I think it still is helpful for us to define at least what you mean

when you say that. What is the deep state who, what kind of office holder ends up composing it?
