This is the first part of a series where I'm going to cover some proven tactics that will

significantly increase your ad income.

Each of these episodes are going to be short and to the point, focusing on one simple

tactic that you can quickly take action on.

In this episode, I'll be covering font size optimization. Your font size

matters. It matters to usability, SEO, and your ad income. Let's start with usability. Between 70 to 80

percent of your visitors are using their smartphone to view your blog posts. A large portion of these mobile

visitors have impaired vision. I'm part of the group that has to wear glasses, so I know how

frustrating it can be when I visit a page with small text. I don't have the patience to enlarge the

text with my phone, so I usually just hit the back button.

This has a direct impact on your SEO because Google keeps track of how long Google searchers spend on every result before they hit the back button.

It rewards the blog posts that have fewer backouts by moving them up the rankings.

It's hard enough to make great content to keep your visitors reading, so the last thing you want to do is to make your content too small to actually read.

Google also measures your font size, and that measurement plays a role in the mobile indexing

score for each of your post.

It has been well reported that anything under 16 pixels is going to make it next to impossible to rank high in Google's mobile search results.

At this point, you know that the minimum font size is 16 pixels.
