Okay, so when we get started in just a minute, we're going to be picking up in Acts of the Apostles chapter 6, verse 1. As I always say, by the time someone hears this online, you'll be

able to go in here the first Bible study of the Book of Acts online and hear my long

introduction to the book. To get us cut up to where we are now in chapter six, we've really been

still focusing on sort of the first phase, as we said, at the beginning in St. Luke when he gives his account of the ascension,

his second account of the ascension after the end of the Gospel of Luke.

Here, remember, Christ told the apostles they'd be as witnesses in Jerusalem and then all

of Judea and then Samaria and then to the ends of the earth.

We're still in the Jerusalem phase of that.

We're still in the city in its sort of

immediate surroundings. We've seen the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, which sort of

began the growth of the church of Christianity from the 120 people sitting in the room that we started with to now

thousands coming in and not only coming in but also going out as they you know they were there for

the Feast of Pentecost they've been there for the other feasts they're hearing and they're

going back home and taking what they've heard with them. And so we'll meet

up with some of them again later on. And we've also seen some people like we saw Barnabas already,

at least we got a glimpse of him, who from Cyprus originally who had sold his property there

and given the money. The church community is now living in Jerusalem as part of the Christian

community. We've seen their way of life. We've seen them continuing to preach in the temple,
