We're going to be picking up at the beginning of

chapter 2 of the Acts of the Apostles.

And as I usually do, I'll say that by the time people are hearing this

Acts 1 will have already been posted on the internet, and so they'll be able to go back and listen

to that. In terms of my introduction, sort of introduction to the book as a whole, to get us

caught up to where we are right now. We're only on

chapter 2, so there's not that much, but we saw that in the first chapter, St. Luke sort of repeated

the story of Christ's ascension into heaven. So he sort of began with the same episode that

ended his gospel. And then we saw the very

early days of the Christian community, which was about 120 people, as we found out, gathered in one

room. And St. Luke made it a point to tell us that the remaining 11 of the 12 disciples were

there, that Mary the mother of Jesus was there, that the other women disciples were there,

and then his Jesus brothers, and then the remaining 120.

And they were, as Jesus had instructed them,

remaining there in Jerusalem until the time came

when the Holy Spirit descended upon them,

although they don't know exactly what that means yet.
