It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible,

chapter by chapter, book by book.

Today on Searchlight, we are beginning a verse-by-verse study of Acts chapter 24. This chapter details the

trial of the Apostle Paul before the Roman governor Felix in the seacoast town of Cessaria. The trial is

very interesting, and we can learn much from how Paul handles himself in it. So let's now join Pastor John for our teaching

and see what the Lord wants to speak to us today. In our previous studies, we have seen the

Apostle Paul being placed into protective custody under the jurisdiction of the captain of the Roman Guard there in the city of Jerusalem.

That name, or pardon me, the name of that guard was Claudius Lysius.

And Claudius Lysius found that this man, whom he had placed in protective protective custody was just too hot to handle. For you see,

after three riots had broken out around Paul, now there was a plot to murder him. And 40 Jewish

men took a vow they would eat nothing until Paul was killed.

At this point that Roman captain Claudius Lysius said,

hey, we've got to get him out of this city.
