The Holy Spirit has arrived.

Yeah, Peter given the sort of first documented sermon of the church.

You've got that sermon being pretty effective.

I mean, I feel like that God establishes the efficacy of the

word right from the jump, because Peter gives this little sermon and 3,000 people get baptized and

are added to the church. So, I mean, I know, Bob, you've done some good preaching in your life, and that's probably

no big deal for you. But 3,000 baptize in a day, seems like a pretty good day at the office. We call that Sunday. That's just what we do. It's just what we're doing Sunday here. Indeed. And if you want to get baptized again, we'll do it. It's fine. Three thousand. Bring him on him.

Yeah, it's a pretty impressive feat that the Holy Spirit has pulled off through very imperfect

preachers like Peter. He's still doing it today. And I think we ended with that acknowledgement

that this is kind of the way God works. And sometimes, I mean, there are times like this

throughout history where somebody preaches and there are literally thousands of people that are converted. That

does happen still. Most of the time, it looks much more unimpressive. Nevertheless, God's spirit

is still doing the work to bring souls into his church. And so here now at verse 42 in chapter 2, we're kind of given a picture of what the church looked like right out of the gate with all of these thousands of people.
