Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

What happens when you have a bunch of people who are radical for Jesus, guys who are single-minded about

the things of the kingdom. What happens is they turn the world upside down. We're going to see that

today as we begin a verse-by-verse study of Acts chapter 17. And as we study Paul and Silas and the

other disciples, remember that we too can turn our world upside down in the same way.

With our study here now is Pastor John.

Paul, of course, is on his second missionary journey.

He has left Philippi and is now headed towards Thessalonica, approximately 200 miles

away. On his way to Thessalonica, he passes through two cities, verse one tells us,

Ampilus and Apollonia. He passed through them, and nothing is

recorded about them as it relates to Paul. Evidently, he passed right through those cities quickly,

for you see, these were really hick towns.
