Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible,

chapter by chapter, book by book.

On our last Searchlight program, we finished up a verse-by-verse study of Acts chapter 15. In that study,

we learned six ways in which God guides us so that we might walk in His will. Today, we

will begin a verse-by-verse study of Acts chapter 16, but the same lesson continues. That is,

in this chapter we see additional ways in which we can

know and walk in the will of God. With our study here now is Pastor John. Perhaps you recall the story

in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the Philadelphia flea market, a man bought a painting for about $18.

The painting was not very spectacular, but he was interested in the frame. The painting was

obviously old and the frame was quite ornate and so this guy plopped

down the money, bought the painting, took it home and stripped away the canvas from the frame.

In the process of stripping it away, something caught his attention poking out from underneath the left-hand

corner of the picture. And so he peeled open the canvas and there, between the canvas

and the back of the mounting of that frame was a copy, one of only four known, of the Declaration of Independence.
