It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

In our recent searchlight studies, we have been looking at how Peter's world has just been turned upside down.

Peter had a vision from the Lord and confirmation from the Spirit that God was clearly opening up the gospel to all people, Jews and Gentiles.

This would be a shocking revelation to the Jews who thought that Gentiles were unclean and defiling.

Now Peter faces the task of telling the other Jewish leaders about this amazing revelation.

Let's now join Pastor John for our teaching in Acts Chapter 11 and see how this news is received.

In Israel, in the time of the Bible, to those who lived in that land, the world, all of the human population was divided into two groups.

There was the Jew who was a descendant of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob,

and then there were the Gentiles, which was everybody else. So when we use that word Gentiles in our Bible study,

we are simply saying anyone who is not a Jew, really.

There are Jews, there are Gentiles.

And the Jewish people initially were intended to be, as the prophet Isaiah declared,

a light unto the Gentiles.

That little country in the belly button of the globe, Israel, was to be an example for all of humanity,
