Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the

entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book. How can we find the will of God in our lives? How can we

know the direction that God wants us to go?

These are questions that all of us ask from time to time, and in our study of Acts chapter 1,

we are seeing the answers to these questions. But before we see the right way to discern God's will,

we are seeing the wrong way to discern God's will, we are seeing the wrong way to discern God's will.

Let's now join Pastor John as he is explaining a story of Peter trying to discern the will of God.

Now Peter here says, this is the qualification. He's got to be a witness of the resurrection. So, verse 23,

in light of what Peter knew about the word, they appointed two. Two men who had this qualification,

these two men, Joseph called Barabbas, surname Justice and Matthias, and they prayed.

And they said, Lord, you know which, pardon me, thou Lord, which knows the heart of all men,

show which of these two that you have chosen that he may take part of this ministry

and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go down to his place.

And they gave forth their lots, and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was numbered with
