Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

We are in the birthplace of John the Baptist

in Ein-Kurem, Israel, also the place of the second joyful mystery, the visitation.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for,

all of those on the Rosary Intention List,

all of the people that you've carried from America to the holy land that you've promised

to pray for.

The angels announced the birth of Jesus to Shepherds, the most ordinary people in the world, and Magi, Gentiles, non-Jus, probably from Iran or Iraq who set out to search diligently for Jesus.

Following the start of Bethlehem, both the Shepherds and the Magi

encounter Jesus through married and both experience exceedingly great joy and happiness.

But there is the most important truth here.

God created all people for holiness.

The angels come to the most ordinary of all people, Shepherds.

And through the star God beckons non-believers.

God created every one of us for holiness, for transforming union with Jesus that will lead to perfect happiness.

This is a doctrine of the church, the universal call to holiness.

It couldn't be universal if God didn't intend for all people

to become holy.

Even all of us spiritual slobs.
