0:24.2 | So I want to welcome you all back to the first after we had a two week break for Eid, obviously, and the last person that we spoke about is usually only spoken about in the story of the man that we're covering tonight. |
0:53.2 | It was Abu Ghulayr al-Aliya Allah, but in the end we had a chance to talk about Tufaid, a dosi, while in great detail two weeks ago, and to really treat his story for the blessing that it is on its own. |
1:07.2 | And that gives us the opportunity to go into the story of Abu Ghulayr al-Aliya Allah, and he'll understanding that background. |
1:13.2 | If you haven't watched it, then please do insha'Allah to go back and review your notes because it really is enriching to the story of Abu Ghulayr al-Aliya Allah, himself. |
1:23.2 | So the man that we're talking about today is extremely difficult to cover in one hour. |
1:29.2 | I've cut a lot of notes out, tried my best to keep this to one biography because we could honestly spend five or six lectures with him alone. |
1:39.2 | Insha'Allah to Allah, maybe in the future, when this is written out, some of those extra details can be put in. |
1:45.2 | We can actually understand the person of Abu Ghulayr al-Aliya Allah, and his legacy in his history with the Prophet ﷺ in the companions. |
1:53.2 | A bit more to gain a greater appreciation for him, al-Aliya Allah, to Allah. |
1:58.2 | And his title, when you go to the great book of Syirah Al-Alamu n-Nawbullah, by the name of Zahb i-Rahimahullah, his title is a long title, and the pages of people that narrated from him are longer than most chapters as a whole for other people. |
2:14.2 | Meaning if you took the biography of someone else in the book of Syirah Al-Alamu n-Nawbullah, and you just compared it to the pages of Abu Ghulayr al-Aliya Allah, I'm about who his students were in the introduction of who he is. |
2:25.2 | Those pages are longer than most biographies in the entire collection of biographies by Imam Zahb i-Rahimahullah. |
2:32.2 | His title, the Imam al-Fakhid al-Muchthahid al-Hafid, sahib al-Rassuri Allah, the Imam, the jurist, the scholar, the Hafid. |
2:52.2 | Sahib al-Rassuri Allah, the companion of the Prophet, Abu Ghulayr al-Dousi, from the tribe of Dous al-Yamani, from Yemen, Sayyid al-Pifad al-Athbat, the leader of all of those who were firm in their memorization, not just of the Qur'an but of multiple other things as well. |
3:12.2 | So this is the man who, of course, narrated the most Ahadith from the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, narrated more narrations from the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam than any other human being in history. |
3:25.2 | And there is this great discrepancy between the narrator and the person. |
3:29.2 | What I mean by that is that A'ish al-Aliya Allah wa ta'ala an-ha, who narrates after Abu Ghulayr al-Aliya Allah wa ta'ala an-ha, this great body of Ahadith from the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. |
3:38.2 | We know about A'ish al-Aliya Allah wa ta'ala as a person, you know her biography, our mother, may Allah be pleased with her. |
3:44.2 | But when it comes to Abu Ghulayr al-Aliya Allah wa ta'ala an-ha, the average Muslim knows very little about his life, |
