We've just seen Julie Hartley Brewer up at the Birmingham Tory Party Conference

where all sorts of things seem to be going on.

I turn over there, you turn back there, you go left, I'll go right, we'll go forward, I'll go

backwards. That seems to be the hokey-coki-coki going on currently in Birmingham. We're not entirely sure who's running the ship. We're not entirely sure who's captaining the ship.

Quasi Quater and yesterday said that he was not going to move forward the OBR estimates.

He wasn't going to bring forward the way he was going to make these payments made.

He wasn't going to tell us how he was going to pull money from one side of the budget and give it to another side.

He wasn't going to tell us anything about that until sometime later in November, or possibly October. We can't remember.

Anyway, now he's doing it sooner than he was going to do it. So that's another U-turn.

Liz Truss says that she's going to give benefit claimants more money, but apparently not enough more money for the Tory party to be happy about it.

She wants to line it up with earnings because she doesn't want to give people who don't work

more money than people who do. It turns out actually that other people in the Tory party want

her to line it up with inflation, penny more than it's one of them, because then they'd get more.

So the Tory party now is a party of taxing the rich and giving more money to benefit

claimants. When did that happen exactly? 0344-49-1,000. I'm slightly confused, as I'm sure you are.

We'll be talking to Nick Dubois about that. Big day today, though, for those people who are

against the arrival of loads of illegal migrants onto our shores.
