Summary

92 percent.

That’s how many Black women voted for Kamala Harris.

And somehow… we’re still being asked to carry the country.

To welcome in Black History Month, we're unpacking what that 92 percent statistic really means and why Black women voters remain the most ignored constituency in the room.

This isn’t just about politics though.

It’s about grace.

It’s about systemic racism in America.

It’s about faith being weaponized in Christianity and politics.

And it’s about immigration, dehumanization, and who gets protected.

We're chatting about:

  • The meaning behind the 92 percent of Black women who voted for Kamala Harris (and why that number matters!)
  • The “grace gap” and the emotional labor placed on Black women in politics and culture
  • The misuse of Christianity in politics and what faith actually calls us to do
  • Why Black History Month should question endurance, not just celebrate it

Race should not be a privilege and humanity should not be conditional. If this makes you uncomfortable, good. Discomfort is the beginning of change. Thank you for being here today to listen.

And, you know, it's a time where I think that the unification of us as a people in a time where I, there's so much oppression around us and constant suffering that we're bearing witness to.

0:48.9

It's just such a reminder of who some of the people were that elevated us and built this country.

And I wanted to start off this month with a special conversation because all of our chats,

1:17.4

like an especially curated guest that we are going to have this month speaking with us,

1:20.9

are all black women.

1:22.5

And why is that?

1:23.8

Because I want to celebrate the 92% of us that are not responsible for this shit

1:29.4

show that we are living in.

1:31.2

And because the world right now is exceedingly fucked up, I want to not only celebrate

1:37.4

Black History Month in the biggest way that it deserves because I don't think that this

1:41.1

world is reflecting that.

1:42.7

But I also want to give credit where credit is overly due and often denied and elevate

1:49.3

the people that I know are doing the work consistently.
