Last year, Abbey Wombach gave a commencement speech at Barnard College, and it went viral.

Like all little girls, I was taught to be grateful.

I was taught to keep my head down, stay on the path, and get my job done. I was freaking Little Red Riding Hood.

You know that fairy tale. Little Red goes off through the forest. She doesn't heed the warning

not to stray, and she crosses paths with a wolf.

Like Little Red, Abby didn't heed the warning, and that made all the difference for her.

In her career as a soccer player, she's won two Olympic

gold medals. She has scored more goals than anyone else, male or female, anywhere

in the world. She captained the 2015 USA women's team that won the World Cup and four years after she retired from the sport

She's building a leadership coaching business and she had this to say

If I could go back and tell my younger self one thing,

it would be this.
