0:11.7

Midlands as the Jets crushed the rival Patriots 24 to 3 on Thursday night football. Let's

And I'm sure you're very happy, too, because the New York Jets blew out the New England Patriots last night on Thursday night football. It was a absolutely dominant performance. The final score was 24 to 3. And I think it's fair to say. I don't think you're going to disagree with this sentiment. This was the first time in 2024, the New York Jets looked like the team we were expecting them to be. This season began with such high expectations of Super Bowl dreams. Everybody's expecting the Jets to be good. And then week one was a letdown. And after that game, you know, I mentioned that, you know, It's a long season. It was one game. I did not want to go overboard with it. Week two comes, just win the game. Look, winning's better than losing. But against the opponent, they frankly should have crushed an opponent against the Tennessee Titans that's just not any good. The Jets were in many ways fortunate to win the game. There were in many ways fortunate to, you know, play Will Levis, who just kind of handed them the game. And look, that's part of the quarterback position is part of the reason the Titans are bad. Of course, that factors into it. But it was easy to come away from that game a little disappointed with the performance. Always happy with the win, but not happy with the level of play the Jets performed at.

2:19.4

This game, this is the first time.

2:22.6

This is the point where the Jets looked like the team we were expecting them to be,

2:25.0

dominant on both sides of the ball.

2:30.9

And against an opponent who, in the Patriots, who, you know, not expected to be a great team,

3:08.4

maybe not a great roster, but a team that through two weeks played at a higher level than a lot of us were expecting them to. They're divisional opponent. It's a short week. That's always an equalizer. I mean, so I went into the week two game against the Titans thinking the Jets should blow the Titans out. Heading into this game, I was not saying that. I was saying, you know what, I'll take a win anyway. I mean, I'll always take a win anyway. I can get it, but I would not come away disappointed if the Jets had kind of a sloppy, underwhelming win because it's a divisional opponent, short week. Those are equalizers. Also the Patriots, you know, have looked better if the early part of the season than we were expected them to be. And in some ways, they presented a tough match for the Jets because they were a team very based on the run game. And the Jets

3:12.3

run defense to this point in the year has been a bit up and down. Well, it just came out

3:17.0

and dominated this game. This is the type of game that really builds confidence. And this year's

3:22.3

a little bit different for me than your typical Jets year.

3:25.5

I'm usually not a big style points guy. I usually just don't, you know, if you get a win,

3:29.5

you get a win. Of course, how you get the wind does matter. You know, last year when the Jets started

3:33.6

four and three, there were lots of things that were not sustainable. But for me this year,

3:39.3

winning is the most important thing, but not far behind it is the Jets playing a really, really high caliber of football.

3:48.1

And the reason I say that in part is because expectations are so high because the Jets have so much invested in this season.

3:54.0

This is a, I mean, for many people in this franchise, this is a make or

3:58.5

break season. I don't think it's unfair to say Robert Salas jobs on the line. I don't think it's unfair to say Joe Douglas's job is on the line. I think it's obvious that, you know, Aaron Rogers, no matter what he or the Jets may tell you, very, very much a year-to-year situation with him. That's just the case with any quarterback who's 40.

4:15.4

You know, the Jets can, of course, the Jets and Rogers are all going to say. you very, very much a year-to-year situation with him. That's just the case with any quarterback who's 40.
