| 0:00.0 | Welcome to Pushback. I'm Aaron Mate. As I've been covering, I recently spoke at a meeting of UN Security Council members about the OPCW's cover-up scandal in Syria, the censorship of findings in its probe of an alleged chemical attack in Duma that undermined allegations |
| 0:23.1 | that the Syrian government was guilty. And this has been a cover-up going on for many years now, |
| 0:28.7 | which I've covered extensively at the gray zone. And in this segment, I want to talk about |
| 0:33.7 | an aspect of this meeting that occurred between me and the British representative. |
| 0:38.5 | The UK has been very central to the OPCW cover-up. The UK joined the US in France in bombing Syria |
| 0:45.5 | based on the allegations. And then when OPCW leaks emerge showing that the OPCW had |

| 1:24.7 | This is now the third time that I've had the opportunity to address members of the Security Council |
| 1:32.3 | about the controversy surrounding the OPCW's investigation of the alleged chemical attack in Duma. |
| 1:39.3 | And if I can share one opinion, while I really appreciate this opportunity, I have to say that I find it unfortunate that nearly five years after that alleged incident in Duma, this controversy around the OPCW investigation is still being debated in public rather than being addressed by the OPCW. |
| 2:00.0 | Because fundamentally, this is a controversy that is internal to the OPCW. |
| 2:05.6 | And at the heart of it are at least two veteran inspectors from the OPCW |
| 2:10.6 | with nearly 30 years of combined experience, |
| 2:14.6 | who worked on the Duma investigation, who deployed to Syria for the Duma |
| 2:19.2 | investigation. And what they say is very simple. They have accused senior officials at the OPCW |
| 2:24.7 | of suppressing findings from their probe and putting out unsupported conclusions that baselessly |
