Tuesday marks the first anniversary of George Floyd's murder by a Minneapolis police officer.

During the past year conversations about race and policing came to the fore in politics

and the culture more broadly.

And we've seen significant swings in public opinion, particularly among white Americans,

initially in favor of Black Lives Matter and then against.

We're going to talk about how views and policies have evolved over the past year and try

to put that in the context of centuries of racial justice movements in the United States.

We're also going to take a look at why Republicans are no longer supporting a bipartisan commission

to investigate the attack on the US Capitol on January 6th.
