The way that mainstream economics treats capital, it says though, it's a matter of just

numbers of stock valuation of how do we determine whether the economy is doing well or not,

is the stock market up or down. The way that Marx looked at capital was as a social

relation, you know, that you can't understand economics by just doing math, you know, you

have to understand what's the relationship behind these processes. We live in a political

economic system that is a social relation of production, one that's based on the exploitation

of the many for the benefit of the few. And so when you look at what is capital, what

is labor, what's our relationship, you have to start out from that question of what's
