with David Wearing about Boris Johnson's recent trip to Saudi Arabia in which he turned

up Capin Hand at the feet of some of the most murderous and authoritarian regimes in the

world. This was literally days after the Saudi Arabians had executed 81 people in the

largest mass imposition of the death penalty for many years. So David and I discuss why Johnson

thought this diplomatic mission was necessary, how it relates to the crisis that we're seeing

in energy markets and the potential emergence of a multipolar world order and what this means

for world politics. David is an expert on Britain's relationship with Saudi Arabia and the

Gulf States. He is author of Anglo-Arabia, why Gulf wealth matters to Britain and he's a postdoctoral
