I'm great. Thanks for having me. So today we're going to be chatting about two of your books,

Elite Capture and reconsidering reparations. The first book Elite Capture, you talk about this

idea of identity politics, which is kind of a calmness, casual term for people who kind of support

it and vociferously don't. How do you define the term and how does your definition differ from

the one that we might used to be hearing about in the media? So I largely follow at least my

interpretation of the Kombi River collective who coined and popularized the term identity politics.

To me, it's just a political perspective that is self-consciously tied to one's social identity.
