April 7th. A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.

That is the latest dire warning to Iran from President Donald Trump on social media this morning,

who added, quote, I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. He has given the Iranians until 8 p.m. Eastern tonight to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and if they don't, Trump says the U.S. will bomb bridges and power plants, which experts say could amount to a war crime. Again, it's not clear if Trump will follow through on its threats to escalate the war later tonight. But what happens if he does?

CNN Global Affairs analyst Kim Dozier says,

even though Iran's military has been degraded, it can still hit back.

Iran retains the capability to hit the center of Tel Aviv,

to hit many Gulf nations in their infrastructure. you had a satellite facility in the Emirates,

a reported hit today. So what Iran could do is unleash its weaponry on the oil facilities,

the energy facilities, the desalination plants, et cetera., across the Gulf, and create an economic nightmare

for decades to come as they try to rebuild from that.

In the meantime, the Israeli military asked Iranian citizens to refrain from train travel throughout

Iran, and the source says Israel is targeted railways, bridges, and major highways across Iran this morning. And according to a U.S. and White House official, the U.S. has struck military targets on Karg Island for the second time in this war. That's the small island near the Strait of Hormuz, where nearly all the country's oil is exported from. The U.S. official said the strikes did not target oil facilities, though.
