| 1:22.6 | They started building this thing in 1800. |
| 1:29.2 | Now, one of the most recognizable features of the U.S. Capitol is the dome, which was actually built almost seven decades after they started construction. |

| 1:49.1 | I grew up in Maryland, lived an hour away from D.C., spent quite a bit of time here in Washington, |

| 2:03.9 | children here. And then even as my kids outgrew, hey, let's go to D.C. I came here on my own. |
| 2:12.8 | In fact, probably in the last five, ten years, have visited D.C. more than all the previous years of my life. |
| 2:24.4 | I just love this city. Love walking here. Love the history. Can't get enough of this. |
| 2:31.2 | But here's something that I just recently learned about the U.S. Capitol. |
| 2:35.6 | Beautiful white building, stone building. |
| 2:40.4 | The dome is not stone. |
| 2:43.8 | The dome of the U.S. Capitol is cast iron. |
