I've been walking for fitness since 2013, averaging about 21,000 steps a day. I am walking

with a mission realized yesterday that we haven't done this in a while. In fact, we've got some new listeners who have never experienced this.

And also was reminded because our son Aaron was here for the weekend.

And he and I, along with Ava, probably at least five times, took this very walk with this very same purpose, although those five walks

proved to be fruitless, because I think they were at the wrong time of day. A little before

sunrise is when we have the best time to see the alligator.

So, yep, that's what we're doing.

I live in South Carolina, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

And there is a lake behind our community.

It has a paved trail on both sides of the lake.

It takes about 10 minutes to walk from one end to the other, which is what I'm

doing right now. And there is an alligator that lives in this lake. It's a small alligator,

about four feet, I guess. Saw them for the first time last summer and a few times last year.

This year, I've seen the alligator more than a few times,

but have not seen the gator as you and I are walking in probably three months,

although that was just a fun episode. It was the middle of May.

I was talking about something completely different and was walking along this trail.
