| 0:05.0 | Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. |
| 0:08.0 | Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for. |
| 0:12.0 | We need a two-part plan for Lent, human and divine. Yesterday we focused on |
| 0:19.6 | the human and today the divine or spiritual part of our plan. |
| 0:24.0 | Our spiritual plan for Lent needs the following ingredients |
| 0:29.0 | daily meditation and examination of conscience, confession, daily mass, and helping others grow spiritually. |
| 0:41.0 | Now, Lent is about conversion and growth in our conversion. |
| 0:47.0 | The infallible means to growth in friendship with Jesus and conversion from vice to virtue is daily meditation. |
| 0:55.0 | The catechism suggests two ways to do daily meditation. |
| 0:59.0 | One through Lexio Devina, that is, prayerfully reading the Bible or through the Rosary. |
| 1:07.3 | Either way, in meditation, we should do three things. |
| 1:12.2 | We listen to God by reading or recalling his word in scripture, in tradition, |
| 1:19.7 | and in the teaching of the church. This is the way God normally speaks to us. Then we reflect |
| 1:26.3 | or think about what God has said and what he has done in order to understand it, to |
| 1:32.1 | love God for it, and to form firm convictions. |
| 1:37.1 | And then we form a resolution to put into practice what God has said to us that day. |
| 1:44.0 | Now if we do this every day, we will convert from vice to virtue, |
| 1:50.0 | and we will grow in holiness. |
| 1:52.0 | But if we do not do this, and we will grow in holiness. |
| 1:57.1 | But if we do not do this, we will not convert, we will not grow. |
