Molly Henningway has agreed to share David Harsani, senior editor of the Federalist with me today for a special edition of Federalist Radio Hour, a summer Friday, an edition of Federalist Radio Hour because it's turned out to be a very big day for David Harsani, who you may or may not know, is somewhat of a true crime of Fissionado.

So David, first of all, welcome.

And secondly, can you just fill us in a little bit on what some of the breaking news has been in the morning hours of this summer Friday?

Well, thank you. It's always a pleasure to share my time with you.

I think you have oversold me a bit as an Fissionado.

I think there are certain cases like the John Bene Ramsey murder, for instance, where I think I am somewhat of an Fissionado.

On this one, my interest in the case, which is the Long Island serial killer, Gilgo Beach, is more has more to do with my growing up, like just a few miles away from that place.

And I guess I'll start with some background that there were about 10 years ago, they found the remains of.

I think 10, maybe 10 or more, maybe 12, something like that women, I think there was one young man's body as well.

On the beach and Gilgo Beach on Long Island. Now just explain to people who aren't from there, because I like talking about Long Island quite a bit.

The the South Shore Long Island has a.

I call them like smaller islands or keys. I don't know what you'd call them, but there's like Rockaway Beach, which was made famous by the river.

And Long Beach and Jones Beach, which is the really big busy beach. And then right next to it is Gilgo Beach, where there are less people.

So this is where the bodies were found in 2010, but I believe they thought that the murders had gone back a few years, maybe to 1999.

I'm not exactly sure, but maybe to 1996 something like that or 2000 for sure the two mid 2000s.

And they could never find the killer and a few years ago they have.

They sort of reinvigorated the case or reopen the case and release some audio of one of the women who went missing and stuff like that. And apparently today they arrested a man who's the suspect that his name, I believe is Rex.

Here, here, or something like that. And he's from a place called Massa Pico Park, which is very, which is nearby on Long Island.
