The Bible prescribes a plan for generosity called tithing. It's not an accounting term, it's a spiritual one. You see tithing is rooted in our relationship with God.

And today on Insight for Living, Chuck Swindall helps us understand the Old Testament history of tithing.

And he'll explain the relevance of this practice in the age of grace.

Should Christians continue this ancient plan of philanthropy or is there a better way a modernized

version that we should adopt today?

And we begin with prayer. Over the years our father we have come to realize that it is impossible to outgive you. You give and you give again. The very breath in our lungs is a gift.

The ability to move about is a gift. To have those around us who love us is a gift.

To have a church in which to meet is a gift. All of these and a thousand others we could

name come from your faithful generous hand.

It seems only appropriate that we pause

to express in a tangible way our gratitude

as we give you our gifts today,

in the name of Christ, our Savior and Lord,

everyone said,

Amen.
